MISSION FOR JAMIES COTTAGE

This home is made available to women needing a safe place while transitioning from incarceration/rehab with the goal of reintegrating into their community while seeking restoration in their lives.  The goal of Jamie’s Cottage is to offer each woman a safe and loving atmosphere while they engage in Positive Faith based initiatives, as they pursue Freedom from addiction and a path to wholeness.

This is a home where Grace and Love abide!

 

To be considered for residence in Jamie’s Cottage as a guest, you must complete both sides of this application and be interviewed by the Housing Team. Carefully read the application and honestly answer the questions. Your application must also include the following:

  • A cover letter detailing a plan that you will commit to for your recovery, including probation/parole if it applies, Specialty court obligations, sponsor and personal goals you want to achieve.
  • A list of medications
  • A release of information form if you are in rehab.

 Living in Jamie’s Cottage can be your next best step, and if you understand its value, it can help you achieve restoration with God, yourself, your family and your community

For your application to be submitted you must be in cooperation with Judicial oversight, such as, Sobriety/Drug Court; Community Corrections or Probation/Parole within Grand Traverse County.

Failure to comply with any of these requirements will result in immediate removal from Jamie’s Cottage at the discretion of the Board/House Manager and your Judicial Supervisor. Law enforcement will be called to assist if necessary

That I will cooperate with the following:

  • Sunday thru Saturday check-in calls from house line by 10:00 pm.
  • Random daily visits by House Manager with interaction.
  • Weekly Random PBT’s and/or Drug test/screening at the discretion of the House Manager. (Appropriate with Probation/Parole guidelines.)

"I realize that Jamie's Cottage for Women, for which I am applying as a guest requires complete abstinence from Drugs and/or Alcohol. Any use of Drugs and/or Alcohol is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate eviction from our residence(s). Disruptive and/or Discourteous behavior within our residence or community will not be tolerated and can/will result in eviction from our residence. Finally, a guest’s inability to maintain employment and pay her agreed shared expenses in a timely manner can/will result in eviction from our residence. By initialing/signing, I acknowledge agreement to the terms stated, and hereby waive my right(s) to normal due process afforded by local landlord-tenant laws. Also, if you are still residing at Jamie’s Cottage 6 months from your date of move in, you will be required to submit a request for additional time at Jamie’s Cottage and a written review of your Recovery Progress.
